Experience

I tutored at the University of Kentucky's student-athlete academic center for over two years. My experiences were positive in that I was able to help freshmen athletes navigate the uncertain waters of juggling both athletic and academic obligations. The reinforcement of their positive feedback made me feel like I was making their lives just a little bit easier. I also have over 4 years of experience with Fayette County Schools. Some of those were spent as a substitute, but recently my efforts rewarded with a permanent para-educator position with Jessie Clark Middle. I'd like to be a tutor because I have been in most students' shoes before where I felt helpless in learning a certain subject or felt I could have gotten more outside assistance. I am very interested in learning new things. Whether that means learning by picking up a new task or picking up a new book, I like to use my free time to help myself grow as a person. I'm of the thought that if I can be at my best, then I can help others by being an example of how to make positive change. I love to be outside, and I hate the idea of sitting around when there's something that needs to be done. I am a very active, upbeat, and energetic person so I feel constant encouragement is something that you would get from me.
