Private tutor in Lexington, KY
Centre College - BS, Physics/Chemistry
I graduated from Centre College with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Physics with a Mathematics minor, and I've completed two-years of graduate-levels physics courses at the University of Kentucky. While working to complete my bachelor's degree, I spent time tutoring small groups of physics students and working as a lab assistant in the college's chemistry lab, where I helped students understand different chemistry concepts found in their weekly lessons. I also spent time working as a teaching assistant in two physics lab classes at the University of Kentucky, where I created my own activities, worksheets, and presentations to use while teaching. Over the past four years, I've worked as a teacher in various capacities, and have found working with students to be an exciting and meaningful experience for me. I believe that it's important to help the students that I'm tutoring develop their own approach to solving problems so that they are more confident in their ability to work independently. I tutor students in algebra, calculus, geometry, chemistry, physics, and physical science, as well as AP Calculus AB, math, and science. When I have free time, I enjoy reading science and history books. I also like to go hiking, play tennis, and play strategy games.
